Southampton Township Rail Trail Project Public Open House

The Bucks County Commissioners, in conjunction with the Bucks County Planning Commission and Upper Southampton Township, are holding a Southampton Township Rail Trail Project Public Open House on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. The Open House will run from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Upper Southampton Community Center, 913 Willow Street, Southampton.

Opening Day for Trails at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge

Celebrate Opening Day for Trails at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge At Tinicum (8601 Lindbergh Blvd, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19153)

  • 8 am Photowalk with Ned Levi 
  • 10 am Nature Tots! (for young explorers age 3 -5) 
  • 1 pm Junior Ranger Insect Walk (for Junior Rangers age 9 - 14)

Petty's Island Spring Shoreline Clean Up

Petty's Island is privately-owned and is in the midst of an amazing transformation from an active marine terminal and oil storage facility into a public park. Access to the island is limited, so don't miss this opportunity to see the island and help in its transformation. We will be doing a cleanup of the shoreline where marine debris threatens the health of wildlife and humans. Water and light refreshments served.

Riverside Cleanup - Pulaski Park and Port Richmond Trail

Volunteer with us to help beautify Port Richmond’s hidden gem on the river. Volunteers will help with riverside trash collection, invasive plant removal, Port Richmond trail maintenance, plantings and more! All ages and abilities welcome. No experience needed. Snacks and water provided.

Rails-with-Trails Pop Up Event

In celebration of Opening Day for Trails on April 7, 2018, Camden County is hosting a Rails-with-Trails Pop Up event. The event will take place on Atlantic Ave from Merchant in Audubon through Haddon Heights to Clements Bridge in Barrington. The event will close down Atlantic Ave from 10 AM – 2PM with a press event starting at 10am, then open to the public at 11AM for family fun. The event will encourage attendees to walk the 2 mile trail with an interactive map, fun facts, food and family fun along the way. The Rails-with-Trails event is a preview of what is to come once the Rails-with-Trails project is completed bringing multi-use trails through Camden County towns.

Opening Day for Trails bike ride with East Coast Greenway Alliance and Bartram's Garden

Philly friends: To kick off the spring trail season and celebrate the national Opening Day for Trails, join us for a bike ride from Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center to Bartram's Garden. We'll ride 3.2 miles along the Cobbs Creek Trail and the 58th Street Greenway. These trails are part of the Circuit Trails, the trail network of the greater Philadelphia region, as well as the East Coast Greenway, a national trail stretching from Maine to Florida. The ride is hosted by the East Coast Greenway Alliance and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council.

Opening Trails Day Celebration April 7: Trail Cleanup or Bike Ride

Join the Schuylkill River Greenways NHA and Fork & Ale for an Opening Trail Day Celebration on Saturday April 7 from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Event will take place at the Fork & Ale, our newest Schuylkill River Trail adopt-a-trail member, in Douglassville. Join us at 11 for a trail cleanup or a group bike ride along the Schuylkill River Trail to the connecting Hopewell Big Woods Trail.
