The East Coast River Relay is a series of celebrations taking place in towns and by waterways along the East Coast Greenway, including bike rides, nature walks, boat rides, and clean-ups, among others, hosted by the East Coast Greenway Alliance and its partner organizations of greenway and river champions. The events will coincide with the journey of a small group of designated cyclists traveling the East Coast Greenway from Maine to Florida starting on August 24th and finishing on October 30th. The Celebration at Fairmount Water Works will take place when the cyclists arrive at the Fairmount Water Works on September 15th. It consists of a reception at the historic location along the Schuylkill River Trail, and the program includes remarks from the Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River, as well as the executive director of the East Coast Greenway Alliance, Dennis Markatos-Soriano, and others to be announced. Details including speakers and RSVPs/tickets, will be posted as they are finalized on the event page: https://www.greenway.org/events/philly-celebration
