This Sunday morning (5/29) I hope you can join me for a special, one-time-only Cobbs Creek cleanup targeting a really cool, trash-filled section of creek on the cusp of Whitby Meadow.
This event will go from 1pm – 3pm, and yes, there will be coffee! More exciting details below.
I am a senior at Lower Merion High School and have been working with Rich and Cobbs Creek Cleanups for the past year. Many of you may know my dad, Greg, one of the Cobbs Creek Ambassadors. This event is related to completing my culminating senior project, and I would appreciate your help in making this project a success!
This spot is what Rich would call a “target-rich environment;” it’s covered with trash both big and small; expect many tires, shopping carts, hoses, and other interesting items. This is a spot that has not been done in quite some time, and it needs YOUR help to make it beautiful again.
There will be plenty of opportunities to get in the CREEK! We have several waders of different sizes and they are ready to get dirty! Consider wearing waterproof boots as we will be focusing on the creek banks/edges.
We will be removing trash from the creek, bagging it, and bringing it up to a spot where Philly Parks & Rec will collect it.
If you’re planning on attending or have any questions, just shoot me an email at elsseidel@gmail.com, this helps me to have enough equipment. Of course if you just decide last minute, please come on out!
I’d love to see you there and hope you can make it out!
